Education, education, education

July 20, 2011

When next you visit the DSC Farm be certain to save some time for our new Education Centre.

We have adapted a donkey run-in shed (which we thought was very appropriate) and situated it in one of the paddocks.  On Open Days Terri Morris staffs the Centre and she brings her considerable teaching skills to her work.  There are displays concerning animal welfare, donkey care, and biology.  It is always a treat to stop by to listen to Terri as she elaborates upon the various items and/or shares her strong beliefs concerning aspects of positive animal care.  Terri is a great friend to the donkeys and her enthusiasm is infectious.

Looking after  animals is such a tremendous responsibility and since there are too few opportunities in our society for people to be made aware of  the essentials of animal care, we are fortunate to have someone like Terri informing and sharing her convictions.  There is always something new to learn.
