Eight thousand three hundred and counting..

Regular Open Days are coming to an end for another season and between them and Donkey Day, over 8300 people have come to the Sanctuary to visit the donkeys this year.  Their peaceful world never fails to charm, no matter the person’s age, while the experience of being in a place where respect for all animals is a fundamental concern serves to remind everyone of the interdependence of all living things.  And that is fundamental, too.

Sunday, October 30th, will be our last Open Day until December when we invite you to come and celebrate the Holiday Season on the 4th, 11th, 18th and 21st.  See you then!

  1. I have been to the DSC nearly every Sunday that I could since the season opened and I have enjoyed every visit, particularly the ceremony on World Animals Day. I’m going to miss the donkeys these long winter months!
